Teaching

For altogether more than 10 years, I have been teaching adult learners and undergraduate students in a variety of courses. In my teaching, I prioritise two components:

  1. Fostering an inclusive learning environment
  2. Using a diverse set of learning strategies and resources for different learning styles

I place a lot of weight in fostering the learning of students by encouraging them to be actively involved in their own learning as they develop their critical thinking and analytical skills.

My role in this process is that of a facilitator and I act in a middle role between my student learners and the historical peoples we study in class. I strive to go above and beyond in ensuring students find success in their learnings. I hope that by applying an inclusive and engaging approach my students will become familiar with the major lines of evidence and methods in my field. This will ultimately allow them to apply their learnings outside the twenty-first century classroom.
