About

Meet Thomas H. Greiner: Historian. Speaker with a subject matter expertise in Egyptology and Cultural Heritage.

Currently a PhD candidate in the Department of Near & Middle Eastern Civilizations at the University of Toronto, Thomas investigates the use and distribution of lapis lazuli in ancient Egypt and what it reveals about Egypt’s foreign relations in the Predynastic and Early Dynastic Periods. Aside from my doctoral work, I also am a Continuing Education Contract Lecturer for the Chang School at Toronto Metropolitan University, where I teach courses on Archaeology and Egyptology. I teach also adult learners in The LIFE Institute at TMU and have organised tours through the Royal Ontario Museum’s Egyptian Gallery. Most recently, I partnered with a local travel agency in organising an 11-day long tour to Egypt visiting cities, temples, and tombs up and down the Nile.
